Happy New Year and a big welcome to all of our new families commencing at Happy Faces in 2024. What a fabulous start we have had so far and already enjoyed many celebrations including Australia Day and Lunar New Year. Our first Newsletter is out and the calendar filled with lots of fun events planned over the next few months. Our team of fantastic teachers have jumped straight into play based learning experineces which has seen a seamless transition for all of our new students. We pride ourselves on building meaningful relationships and creating learning spaces which reflect the interests of all children.
We have lots of community and family events planned for 2024. We will be engaging in Sustainability Projects involving Return and Earn, connecting with our local recycling centre - UTurn and hosting another community market. We remain committed to embedding foundational practices into the everyday events for children so that Reducing, Reusing and Recycling becomes a daily habit embedded into thier lives.
We are looking forward to our Family fun, disco and Georges River picnic - all to be held in the first 6 months on top of the many extra curriculur events planned. Happy Faces prides itself on its cultural inculsion and we love celebrating EVERYTHING and being involved in the lives of our children and families.
Our journey to embedd Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our daily life and practices is thriving. We will continue with our Floral Friday celebrations every month and aiming to host a community event leading into Naidoc week where we have extended members of our community join us on the beautiful Georges River to host a family picnic and learn about the Daraug people. Our "Sea of Hands" project will commence in March leading into Reconciliation week and our Bush tucker garden will be extended as we become more and more skilled in growing and using this produce in our meals.
Miss Julianne is also looking at hosting some Information evenings for families and members of the community around topics like Nutrition and Guiding Behaviour techniques for parents. Everyone is welcome and its free !!!!! Come and enjoy a cuppa with other families and discover some new tips to use at home if you are challenged with your young one.
