Reconciliation Week is upon us and the theme is "We are all in this together....." With Covid19 really turning us all upside down we have really been missing our beautiful children, who have chosen to self isolate at home and keep safe. A very big thank you to all of our wonderful parents who have stayed at home and allowed us to provide care to essential workers in these trying times. We have been committed to providing on line learning, zoom classes, activity packs, daily work out physical challenges and daily Facetimes to keep us all connected. A big congratualtions to Anzila who won the $50 gift voucher for completing every single daily workout and sending us video's.
We have been very busy celebrating Eid and embracing Reconciliation Week. Unfortunately our Eid celebrations were not as big as usual, but we still had fun celebrating with the children by making "Mamoul", designing cards, baking stars and moon cookies, playing games and enjoying a special lunch. Reconciliation Week has seen us create a "Reconciliation Garden" where we have hung very special words we have been learning from the Gamilaraay dialect. We have also built a fire pit and used food from our Bush Tucker garden to make damper.
The fun and learning never stops at Happy Faces and we are looking forward to having all of our children return throughout the month of June. When restrictions have lifted we are planning a huge family night where we can all re-connect with friends.
